The Fashion Portal is a sustainable fashion education project in Lithuania that started in 2023. We organize public screenings, talks, and workshops that help people understand textile impact and spot greenwashing, in a way that feels social and practical.
We also bring The Fashion Portal formats to schools, workplaces, communities, and organizations across Lithuania.
Why Fashion Is a Problem
Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries, responsible for an estimated 8–10% of global CO₂ emissions. It consumes huge amounts of water, depends heavily on fossil-based materials, and creates massive textile waste. At the same time, it is often tied to low wages, unsafe working conditions, and exploitative supply chains.
Fast-changing trends fuel overconsumption, shorten the life of garments, and put growing pressure on both people and the planet.
That is why we created the Fashion Portal.
We believe fashion can be redesigned through education, transparency, circularity, and respect for human work.
